Chocolate smell and feel. Not overwhelming with the barrell tinge. It's there but there's no burn or heat upfront. Smooth.
I've had almost all of the big bourbon barrel stouts. This is next to Prairie Pirate Bomb and Firestone Parabola as in my top 3. I got it in St. Louis at my favorite beer/wine store. I sincerely hope this will be made again and part of a regular offering. Well worth the $18.99. Thanks for making it for this lucky SOB.

Poured into a tulip from a 750ml bottle.
Pours a viscous dark dark pitch black color with a nice quarter inch tan head. The head is dense and retention is great. Sticky lacing left along the glass.
Aroma is sweet. But not too boozy or cloying. Molasses and carmel notes with some slight barrel burn. Notes of slight coffee roast and tons of cocoa goodness. Fudge with caramel drizzled.
Taste is delicious. It is quite decadent. Fudgey chocolate notes with sweet carmel and barrel notes. A slight burn that is well balanced by the decadent richness of the base beer. Slightly dark bitter chocolate is present mixed in with nice mild roast. Notes of dark fruits are present but are well balanced by the chocolate and barrel notes. SLight woody and hot finish. This brew is excellent. Body is slick and sticky. Tons of barrel that isn't overwhelming.
