Black with dark tan foam that has a creamy textured surface. Pillowy at first, settling to an ample skim with spotty lacing.
Ashy roast with rich coffee as it warms. Caramelized sugars, slight licorice.
Rich coffee flavor, creamy and smooth with a light bitterness. Yeast has a nice plum ester, roasty malt base has a pleasant quality. Big beer with a light enough feel it doesn't get weighted down. Overall this was good, I'd like to try it fresher at some point in the future.
