Amber to brown in color and not much light permeates this cloudy beverage. There's a half inch of creamy beige on top. Moderate lacing. I'm smelling earthy to spicy rye along with some mild piney hops. The rye flavor dominates the flavor, but the pine like hops are more prominent and it is more balanced than in the aroma. The mouth is fairly smooth for an IPA, but between the rye and the hops there's a mild, yet pleasant burn to the tongue.
