Canned 1/29/19; drank 8/13/19 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
An even pour yielded a small tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.
Dark roast coffee bean, milk chocolate, mild booze heat & a faint lager yeast note in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Dark roast coffee bean & chocolate syrup flavors; plain & unsatisfying.
Not a stout I'll return to.

pours a dark brown, almost black. light brown ring around the edges. smells of faint chocolate and coffee. a little roastiness on the nose. tastes of chocolate and coffee, although the coffee is quite tame. still a nice flavor. feel is not exactly thin, but it’s a bit too carbonated for an imperial stout. pretty easy drinking and flavorful for an imperial stout. nice for a weeknight when you’re not looking to get too far gone.

phenomenal beer from these 3 here. 16oz can dumped into a spiegelau thing, this is a dark dark brown brew with a khaki finger of head which has now completely vanished. nose is a slightly warming blend of dark chocolate, espresso and deep roasted malts. slight sweetness comes through. taste is an initial smooth sweet chocolate that gives way to slightly bitter black coffee, slight dark fruit notes and burnt toast. coats the mouth with a slightly boozy coffee note and drinks incredibly easy, its rich and full and almost pillowy for a stout. catches up to you over time. nothing over the top in the world of coffee stouts but still very solid and i'm excited to see what else these guys put out
