12 ounce can, canned on 08/12/2019. Thanks again to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with almost an inch tan head. The head didn't stick around for long, and there's a small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like coffee, dark fruit, roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark bread, burnt/charred malt and a bit of anise flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and smooth with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good coffee imperial, I liked this more than I did the base version. Definitely worth picking up!

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This nice brew pours a
dark obsidian with a nice head of off white tan foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin clumping pool, and shows light lacing. Nose of
rich powerful coffee, char, smoke, and sweet chocolate malts.
Flavors nail it with dark cocoa and rich coffee with balanced char
and light anise. Very nice mouth feel; full body, light carbonation
that is subtly more than the standard Black Noise providing
needed lift, and a rich warming lightly dry finish.
Overall, a stunner without any gimmicks....just straight forward
and mighty fine----would love to have this one on tap!
Cheers!

Canned 8/12/19; drank 11/21/19 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a huge dark tan head; frothy lace.
Cream, medium roast coffee & mild metallic notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Cream, medium roast coffee & mild menthol flavors; mild booze heat notes emerged as this warmed.
Seemed a bit off to me; drinkable, but not real enjoyable.

good morning to me. dumped out the can a deep dark brown, nearing black, with a bubbling tan foam atop. delicate lacing and a tiny ring rest forever afterwards. nose smacks with sweetened chocolate and coffee, something that reminds me of what i get at starbucks but its beer. flavor is a lot of bittersweet chocolate, dark breads, earth-y and warm coffee and probably hops blend together and a vanilla-esque sweetness plays a few notes as well. theres a good roasted and earthy character that lingers. its fairly thick in the mouthfeel and a tad sweet at first but the cold brew coffee flavor sings and makes me really want another can
