Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of tropical fruits. Taste is oranges, pine, some pineapple, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer.

I feel the need to report that I'm tired of hazies and seeking out those hop bombs I loved from years past.

This isn't much to look at (more on the amber side of golden amber), head (poured into a pint glass) holds up first as a 1/2 inch and then sticky lacing for up to 15 minutes. Smell is pine. There's a sweetness to the malts or yeast that holds out for just as long, but soon this becomes a glorious, piney/bitter chore. I love it. More, please.

Found a couple more 2nd Shift beers in my stash.
This one was probably canned in August, I can't tell really, the stamping is pretty bad.
Dogfish Head Nonic pint glass that I got for free in Fayetteville AR a couple years ago.

Hazy caramel-blonde with a creamy head of 3 fingers, leaving lots of lace as it descends to a mighty 2 fingers yet.

Aroma is a mix of tropical fruit salad, caramel malt, onion skin, smoker's car, and freshly squeezed orange. It's pleasant.

Flavor is smooth on the front end and hits hard on the back end. It's enjoyable. Sweet caramel and pale malts open this one up politely, followed by orange peels and orange flesh, evergreen, and then hard pine and sawdust on the finish. The finish is oily and stays with you for a long time, pretty unexpected given the soft open.

Heavy carbonation mixing with lots of oils and resins. Impressive mouthfeel. Alcohol heat is right where I'd expect it at 7%.

Overall a unique swing at the west coast IPA. It's one of the more enjoyable IPAs I've had from 2nd Shift, perhaps they should stick to this style instead of trying the juice approach of Brewligans or Little Big Hop.

16 oz can pours a bright orange hazy color, nice thick head, clings to the glass. Aroma of citrus and pine resin. This is a very nice west coast style IPA. I like it.

Clear, amber hued body; great carbonation; excellent head, rocky and white. Fine, balanced aroma mingling a very light malt base with a soft pungent hop aroma; dull sweetness and sharp spiciness tickles the nose. The taste continues with the balance of the beer; mild cereal grain base combined with a moderate herbal hop bitterness that beautifully lingers well into the finish; light white pepper note; subtle alcohol presence. Moderate to heavy body; gentle sharpness and mild warmth on the palate; fine residual sugar presence yet the beer finishes with a predominantly dry character.

This is a west coast style IPA done right. Balanced, rich and and complex, and bringing some outstanding delight to your palate. An excellent and righteous IPA.

Many thanks to STLRadley for getting a 4-pk of this and sending some back East!

A - Dark gold color with nice clarity and light carbonation.

S - Malt aroma is minimal with the dominant characteristic being sticky pine and floral on the nose.

T - Follows the nose but with greater intensity and alot of resiny goodness. Resiny sticky pine and floral, and oranges from start to finish with lingering spiciness and citrus. Finishes a little bit towards the bitter side but with a pleasant, sweet bitterness. The very first thing I noticed was the nice, unobtrusive, lingering resiny goodness - an enjoyable nuance I love about the West Coast style.

M - Thick and silky with a slight bit of carbonation pricklies on the tongue.

O - This is a fantastic representation of the style and really dig the lingering piney, citrus, floral resin. The weakest part of this beer is the nose, it doesn't come close to matching the flavor intensity. Nicely done and recommended!

Beer poured a clear dark golden color with a two finger creamy head that held on nicely. Not too much aroma from the hops for this style, but the beer delivers on flavor. Tastes piney and slightly citrusy, and the malt backbone doesn't overpower the beer. Overall, this is an enjoyable beer that is a solid representation of the style. Definitely recommend.

Light amber with big head, a little cloudy. Lime, orange, bit of tropical, pine. Flavor is just a bit muddled, a little soapy but overall good. Nice full but not heavy mouthfeel.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a large, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of pine, grapefruit, orange and toasted caramel. Nice citrusy taste with grapefruit, pineapple and sweet caramel.
