Russian-style imperial stout with vanilla, cinnamon, cacao nibs, ancho chilis & arbol peppers aged in BLiS maple & bourbon barrels.

A little bit spicier than its LSD counterpart that we did for Craft Beer Cellar, we're really loving how the sweet & spiciness of the BLiS barrels meld well with this beer. Silhouette is a drier stout, and that in turn really shows off the sweetness of the maple with rich chocolately & vanilla mid palate. The finish is a mixture of cinnamon, barrel and pepper spice.

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'CANNED ON 02/09/2021'.
Black colored body, with thin mahogany back lit edge. No real head even with a vigorous pour. No lacing.
Aroma has a melange of smells - bourbon barrel, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and maple. Peppers are faint.
Taste is bourbon barrel, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and a little maple. Some pepper burn arrives late. Pepper also introduces a vegetal aspect.
Low end of medium mouth feel. Short lasting tongue burn, but leaves a longer lasting lip burn. Ends with a chalky texture. Low carbonation.
Relatively old in the can, but all the flavors are there. More sweet from the vanilla and maple, but there is a pepper presence.

Pours an inky black, small tan head is gone in a flash, no lacing, but it does leave behind a nice oily film. Fragrant for sure, cocoa, chiles, a bit of maple and of course bourbon, taste buds get all that. Way too much chile and cocoa. Thick'n chewy, not much carbonation. My 3rd stout from 2nd shift, not my favorite. Brewers, don't ad junk to beer!

Thanks to @FBarber for this great stout. The can is undated, although a rectangular dot-matrix pattern shows up on the bottom of the can. Dating machine not working that day?

Full taste of all of the listed flavorings, although the spicy pepper is not as bold as I was expecting (which is good since I don't like things too hot). Probably the best BA flavored stout that I've ever had.

Black in color with no penetration to light. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering a third of the top. Light lacing. The aroma is of chocolate, cinnamon, bourbon, and chilies. I’m tasting chocolate, cinnamon, chilies, roasted barley, and bourbon. The mouth is very thick, chewy, sticky, and dry.

12 oz. can. Pours black with no head. Smells of cinnamon, chilies, and maple. Tastes of sweet maple with cinnamon and chilies cutting the sweetness. Light roasted malt. Pretty sweet, but doesn't get excessive. Base stout is pretty much gone, but the adjuncts are tasty.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of vanilla, chilies, cacoa nibs, toffee and caramel. Great spicy taste that wasn't too overpowering with sweet chocolate and a kiss of vanilla.
