A 6% milk stout with oats & milk sugar added for texture/mouthfeel. Named for the 1971 Monte Convertible restored by owner Steve Crider and his dad, this smooth and rich stout has notes of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee and light fudge.

I had this on tap at the brewery's taproom, then picked up a four-pack to take home. It is a thick, black, velvety liquid with a slim, tan head. The aroma has a chocolate and roasted malt quality. The taste is lightly sweet up front, with a thick, soft, blanketing smoothness. Coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, and more. Full and hefty body. Satisfying and enjoyable.

poured from a 16oz can into a smaller snifter. pours a shiny black with a thin mocha brown foam cap. aromas of roasted malts, light chocolate and coffee and even some caramel. taste follows but with a little more chocolate to it. easy drinking though at 6%.medium-full mouthfeel with a decent carb to the finish. solid.

16oz can pours a very deep brown-black with a small fizzy cap of light brown-colored head that fades to a thin layer. Smell is deep, syrupy chocolate notes with a hint of malts. Taste is very heavy on the chocolate with a very noticeable, but certainly not overbearing sweetness. Somewhere between sweet milk chocolate and more bitter dark chocolate, with a nice thick syrupy flavor that adds more depth. Some coffee and molasses notes as the sweetness fades into a mild bitterness with the smooth syrupy feel continuing through the aftertaste.
Very solid beer, would buy again.

Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of brown around three quarters of the rim and covering a third of the top. The nose is compromised of lactose and oatmeal. I’m tasting lactose and oatmeal and the sweetness is pretty intense. The mouth is silky smooth.
