poured from a 12oz can into a snifter. pours a dense black with minimal mocha brown head that fades away rather quickly. big aromas of bourbon, chocolate and slightly bitter yet chocolate-forward coffee. taste follows and this is reminding me big time of cafe deth. perhaps a little less barrel but the way the coffee integrates with the base beer and barrel is very akin of cafe deth. chocolate forward with a slight bitterness from the coffee and a touch of dark fruits. medium-full mouthfeel. not insanely thick but certainly not thin. it’s been a minute since i’ve had a BA LSD and this is definitely a step (or 2) up from the last cans i had years ago (i believe they were the Heaven Hill with coffee and Heaven Hill with coffee & maple). good stuff!
