Black in color with minimal light penetration. There’s an inch of cream brown on top that faded after a few minutes to a fingernail. Heavy, soapy lacing on the glass. The aroma is of pine and toasted malt. I’m tasting a bit of pine and toasted bread. The mouth is somewhat dense and dry.

Pours a very dark brown with a murky translucency. Head is two fingers of caramel colored foam with good retention. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts with herbal, resiny, and minor pine and grassy hop notes behind. The roastiness is really what glues it all together. Flavor profile delivers roasty and toasty malts alongisde herbal, resin, and faint grassy hops. Minor chocolate adds a little extra depth. Again, roastiness is the common thread and what brings it all together. Minor sticky notes. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. It starts with a soft texture, but deteriorates to a watery finish. Overall, good blend of black malts and sticky hops. Refreshing, not overly heavy in any way.

Canned 9/19/22; drank 1/2/23 @ the Yarchives.
Brown/black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a HUGE, noisy tan head (careful pouring!); a thick curtain of lace remains.
Medium roast coffee bean & orange citrus flavors; booze heat on the back end.
This tastes like pretty much every Black IPA, but it a bit hot / boozy. OK.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy rings of sticky lace on the glass. It smelled of resin, pine, roasted malt and coffee. Strong, piney bitterness, roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate taste.
