Poured stout black with a medium to dark brown head, at least attempted head. Never quite covered the surface.
The taste is very good, I mean so many BBA Imperial Stouts are, In my opinion, too sweet and relatively one note and done. This has layers of flavors with multiple bourbon notes, lots of chocolate and vanilla, a bit of oak and leather. No harsh notes or bitterness, flirts with sweetness but pulls up short.
The feel is viscous, needs a lot of body to carry all the flavors.
OA, very good BBA imperial stout, one I’d be happy to drink regularly.

Pours black. One finger of khaki foam on top. Heavy oily legs replace the foam rather quickly. Aroma is thick - roasty and toasty malts, molasses, and chocolate stacked over bourbon and barrel. Flavor profile is thick and dense. Chocolate, brownie batter, and molasses meet roasty and toasty malts in spades. Swell of bourbon brings about some mild heat. Mouth feel is thick in consistency. Texture is filling with a very mild creaminess. Overall, decadent with some great barrel character enhancing the depth.

poured from a 12oz can into a perennial snifter. pours a fairly thick-looking shiny black with a thin layer of mocha brown foam that fades away to a thin collar around the rim of the glass. lots of damp oak and strong bourbon on the nose with this one. i also get tobacco and a little vanilla. taste is more chocolate-forward with oak, bourbon, vanilla and barrel char in the background. full mouthfeel. it has just enough prickly carbonation in the finish to keep it from being tiring. yet another beyond solid BA LSD from 2nd shift.
