Canned 2/2/26. Good imperial pastry stout w/nice balance/mouthfeel; a subtle, complex graham crackery/choco/cacao/malty/slightly roasty flavor & a smooth but warming 12.5%er that sneaks up on you. Sweetish but not enough to stun a diabetic at six paces. Revision:sideways. Develops a slight mapley twinge as it warms up?

Aroma is chocolate/fudge, dark malts and hints of graham cracker/nuts/peanuts. The flavor is thick dark malts, chocolate/dark chocolate/fudge, a hint of graham cracker sweetness and an a acidic/surprisingly only slightly boozy finish.

snagged this because of the name and the cool can art. and i love 2nd shift. haven't had anything like this in a smidge but let's get at this huh? here's to sabbath and castles
nearly pitch black pour with some brown in the light. a thin khaki head, which kinda just vanishes, as these stouts tend to look. some clinging bits after each sip but that's it. ya know.
nose is a deep rich chocolate, fancy anniversary dinner date kinda thing. super sweet but holding some earthiness and bite. like some coffee and hints of cinnamon among the hops and malts.
and the flavor holds true with a deep, dark chocolate meets molasses profile that is balanced by the graham cracker spice and a hint of just booziness from that 12 something abv. it all balances well and does feel like the best parts of a smore, because like dude marshmallows are gross.
it's thick and like a high proof stout that covers your mouth and leaves a bit of bittersweet memory on the palate until you take another sip or finally finish and realize you need a water and to figure out the doordash app somehow. solid beer, would drink 2 and watch a snowfall.

16oz can. Poured out am opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of chocolate, graham cracker, vanilla and toffee. Very sweet tasting with rich chocolate, graham cracker and toffee.

From a sixteen ounce aluminum can, this beer has completely black, impenetrable color. The head is slim and off-white. The aroma has a honey, molasses, and light vanilla note, with maybe some roasted coffee notes. The taste is sweet, with a thick and syrupy texture. More molasses and a warming note. Thick in body, full and intense. It hides its alcohol fairly well. All in all, this is okay, but it isn't as complex or satisfying as it could be.
