This is the Cat Spit Stout that was brewed specially for Hyvee's in Columbia, Missouri. This was only a 5.99 bomber. It's a sour stout. Hard to find a category for it to be in.
Appearance: Thick, dark black color, small tan head that laces well down the glass.
Smell: Sour, sweet apples, caramel, chocolate.
Taste: Sweet apple sour up front, fades to a nice subtle chocolate/roast malt taste in the aftertaste.
Very interesting beer. It was slightly better cold. As it starts to warm up the sour tends to fade and the sour/stout starts to not blend as well. Fantastic price point, and overall a very nice beer. Hope they will brew this again for more people to try.
