This clean and easy drinking German style lager has a deep copper color with mild hop flavor, a firm malt middle, notes of toasted malts, cherries and a spicy dry finish. Meant to be consumed with friends during celebrations of all sorts of occasions.

Canned 7/31/24; drank 10/13/24 @ the Yarchives.

See-through dark orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a huge eggshell-colored head; a thick curtain of frothy lacing remained.

Autumn leaf & mild caramel notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Autumn leaf & faint maple syrup flavors.

Decent enough, but I wouldn't seek it out again.

When I bought this from Binny's Build Your 6 Pack section, I was hoping this would be a Fest/Weizenbier. But the two key qualities of the marzen are present: the amber color and the sweet malts barely balanced by the hops in the finish. So I agree with the marzen styling... despite the name being marginally misleading.

I'm also reminded that I've had too little of this hometown taproom/pub that I've visited at least twice. While a next visit may not be in the cards immediately, perhaps another Fest should be as it is well above average.

L: Pours a dark, foggy copper with a white head that fades to a ring, moderate lacing.
A: Malts, mild hops, caramel and toasted breads
T: Breads, caramel and some grain.
F: This seems a bit thicker than normal for the style, continual rising carbonation
O: Solid beer from a brewery I'm not familiar with. Yet!

Clear dark amber body, white head and slight lacing. Big caramel malt in the nose with grainy toast, and slight earth. Taste opens up with malt depth, toffee twinges to the caramel, and brown bread. Feel is malty, smooth, yet light and crisp. The wife loved it

I'm trying this beer at Haymarket in downtown Chicago. It poured a clear amber with thin white head that left some lace. The scent had faint grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt start and slight bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.
