One of my fav beers in Pensacola area. Has the right amount of hops and bitterness to not overly exhaust the rest of the delicious tropical fruits in this thing. A very tasty pale ale they never gets old.

A little bitter hop zest and soft malt on the nose—neither potent enough to make a strong aromatic impression overall—luckily aren't so marginal that their lightness mar the impact of this loose, limpid golden-brown APA. For a Citra-hoped ale, of any sort, Treasure Grove exhibits an especially soft-touch, without any deluge of florality or domination of humulus character. Instead, this ale features a dry, nicely and lightly bittered complexion—with just enough malty sweetness and mouth-thickness to support its hop proportions—along with a finish that hints at lemon and orange rinds, as if some had been zested off the fruit and rubbed into the hop-load. It's drinkable, crisp, and fresh, with just enough fruitiness and citric-floral tones to keep one interested (though not enough to really be *interesting* in the flashy or fantastic sense).
Personally, I love Citra's bolder elements, so this deployment—while not necessary sub-optimal, as it were—nonetheless isn't quite the type to elicit high praise or steep plaudits from me. But it's damn fine Citra-premised pale ale, overall; and, moreover, it seems—in general—PBB shoots for this sort of bar: effective, inoffensive, and tasty, without risking reaching too far beyond their wheelhouse. It's what makes them a dependable middle-burg brewery, and theirs is a very necessary niche. Treasure Grove is an especially tasty execution of these principles, and—as far as I'm concerned—a very happy addition to their rotation.
