The Pensacola Lighthouse is an icon for our hometown, and so is our Porter. For centuries, a light high above a tower has served as a beacon to sailors at sea. Even though we don’t keep the Lighthouse Porter on our roof, you’d be surprised at how many sailors seem to think it’s a sign!

The Gulf’s shallow waters can be treacherous. Without the Pensacola Lighthouse, who knows how many ships would have succumbed to a dark and foggy night? Find your way out of the dreary rat race and relax with the Lighthouse Porter

The Lighthouse Porter is flavorful, without being heavy. An enjoyable sipping beer, you’ll definitely find your way to shore with our Lighthouse Porter.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter via a friend from work---Cheers Randy!
This out of state special delivery pours a dark muddled brown with a decent
head of khaki foam that fades to a thick ring with faint lacing. Nose of dark chocolate,
touches of coffee, and faint char. Flavors follow the nose with faint coffee, dark
chocolate, light char, light grain notes, and brown sugars with a nice herbal
hop touch. Mouth feel is medium, medium low carbonation, medium light
body, and a dark roast finish that is a touch watery.

Overall, decent enough for a session brew.

Cheers

I enjoy the darker beers and the this one is robust but not overpowering. Highly drinkable and as such, I do drink it quite often.

16 ounce pint - $6.00 at The Craft Bar in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Appearance: Served up a very dark brown, mahogany edged body with a smallish, ivory-hued head.

Smell: A dark toastiness, a smattering of cocoa, middling caramel, earthy nuts and a slight dark fruitiness.

Taste: Malty notes of dark toast, modest caramel and cocoa with coarsely chopped nuts and some dark fruit. Minute hop character, a little bit of bitterness showing. Drying, malty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A tidy lil' porter.

Tasted from a 12 oz bottle bought in Northwest FL.

L - Very dark brown but appears clear when held up to the light. Off-white head is thick , creamy and persistent.

S - Low yeasty/infected note on first pour that faded somewhat when the beer breathed. Low chocolate and moderate sweet crystal malt aroma. A hint of graininess in the finish.

T - Flavors dominated by chocolate and slightly roasted malt overtones. This is braced by low earthy and herbal hops flavors. The yeast bite in the aroma does not show in the flavors.

F - Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Low hops bitterness. No alcohol heat.

O - This is a decent porter, but is lacking in much chocolate or roast character and has a distracting yeasty note.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, slight roasted malt, hint of yeast, hint of chocolate, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight roasted malt, hint of yeast, hint of chocolate, and a hint of hops. Overall, decent aroma, decent body, and decent blend.

Poured from a bomber that I paid $6 for into a snifter.

Looks pretty thin and highly carbonated.

Smells very faintly of roasted malts, but mainly sweet and like yeast.

Tastes very sweet up front. Barely noticeable coffee and roasted grains on the back end. Ever so slightly ashy.

Very thin bodied and way over carbonated. Very prickly.

If this beer were billed as a Belgian stout it still wouldnt be real great, but certainly better scoring. This tastes and feels like it was brewed with cola.
