Poured from a growler into a shaker pint, the beer is a dark, almost black, chestnut brown color with a foamy, creamy, off-white head. Aromas of roasted coffee, hints of smoke and bittersweet chocolate, and subtle roasted nut sweetness. Flavors are heavily roasted coffee forward, with subtle chocolate and nutty highlights, hints of earth and smoke, and a ribbon of cream sweetness throughout. Balanced and layered on a smooth, light body, the beer has a mocha coffee aftertaste. Smooth, light, and dry finish, with a bittersweet linger of coffee and chocolate. Good beer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Poured almost black body with good head and minor lace. Aroma has the smoked aspects that are suggested by title/style ("smoked porter") with roasted/possible smoked malts and some coffee notes as well. Little bit of bitter sweetness from dark, roasted chocolate and the coffee notes and there is a little bit of smokiness in the beer. A heavier, fuller-bodied porter that is an enjoyable sipper.
