Poured a red body with brownish tint with minimal head and lace ring.
The dry, citric, dirty hop aroma dominated my nose as other than hops I get just a little bit of sweet malts.
Unfortunately, to me at least, the hops in this beer overpowering everything else and throw it off balance as I prefer amber ales to be malty with hops making noise in background.
There are hints of sugary sweet malts in this beer like caramel and just plain candi sugar (they state that it's in here so I guess this is the "sugary sweetness" I'm getting) but this is a really dry, bitter hopped beer that goes down a tad rough.
Not bad but if the hops were toned down and worked better with the malts, letting them shine through more and maybe giving off a little hoppy sweetness and less bitter/more citric taste then it would be great (that's my two cents).
