Poured from a growler into a snifter, the beer is jet black, with a thick, creamy, dense, light tan head. Beautiful. Aromas of rich bourbon vanilla and spice, woody notes, tangy toffee, bitter roasted coffee, and earthy highlights. Flavors are heavily roasted and slightly smoky forward, rich in chocolate, bourbon, and coffee notes, blending bittersweet and boozy very well. Woody and earthy highlights, with solid ribbons of vanilla, molasses, and peat. Heavy and rich, on a smooth, creamy body. The aftertaste is rich chocolate, roasted coffee, sweet and creamy vanilla, and hints of smoke. Subtle warmth building as you drink. The finish is smooth and creamy, with a bittersweet chocolate and bourbon linger. Good beer.

This is the collaboration "remix" that RB did with Adroit Theory BC. Similar to regular Cthulhu in look and smell as a black body w/ one finger tan head and lace ring awaits me, as does a sweet aroma of chocolate and booze, although the marshmallow addition comes through in aroma for some reason (marshmallows don't really have a distinct smell to me). The difference between regular version and this version is that some of the silkiness and lactic qualities are missing, as this is a fuller bodied stout that gives off chocolaty and sugary sweetness yet has more pronounced boozy edge and there is a bit of spice and smoke on finish. Also, a bit more simplistic as dark fruit and other flavors from original are masked thanks to strong alcohol and smoky spice character.
