No date code that I can see. The label is different from the one displayed.
Appearance: Black body with a dark khaki head. The head is massive and foamy. Good head retention.
Aroma: There is a light aroma of bourbon with a very pleasant woody barrel scent but no alcohol. It's good but I don't pick up any aroma from the stout itself.
Taste: It immediately has this sweet flavor that reminds me a bit of raspberry candy or something but not as fruity. Then there is a faint charred note followed by bourbon and a bit of alcohol at the end. It tastes very nice.
Mouthfeel: It has a semi-full body.
Overall: It's a good Imperial stout. It feels a tad light on the body and the light flavor of the stout is overshadowed by the bourbon but in the end it is an enjoyable beer to drink.

*2015 version aged in bourbon barrels (I believe) and had on tap
Poured a black body with one finger tan head and lace that quickly dies.
Smooth, fuller body that is woody smooth with a balance between coffee, roasted almost burnt malts and dark chocolate sweetness.

Bottle exploded with foam all over the place. Smelled infected, tastes like acidic bourbon... Not good.

Gusher here. Be careful when u open it. Bought this on vacation last year in VA Beach. Aged in Makers Mark barrels. No matter how I pour this it foams up like crazy. It's actually not bad and still a really strong Makers smell and taste (love MM) after a year in my cellar. Way too much carbonation for an imperial stout for me tho. Can't get any other flavors over the MM alcohol burn.

I have had this one for a few years, drank it today with Spanish Cheese and nectarines for dinner. Very nice stout. Pours a dense black color with no light coming through. Dark tan medium size head with good retention and thick filmy lacing on the glass. Smell is the weakest area, definitely malty, some vanilla and a little chocolate.
Taste is solid. Rich malty flavor, a little chocolate and coffee and a warming alcohol effect. I'm sure this beer benefited from the aging as far as smoothness goes.
Mouthfeel is rich and smooth. There is a warming alcohol presence but it don't take from the smooth flavorful presentation.
THis is a solid stout, well worth trying.
