From a bottle, pours a dark cloudy orange with a big full off white head.
The nose is boozy, lots of alochol, wood, a little caramel and citrus hops. The flavor is more bitter than I anticipated, still lots of booze, this is very hot. Some caramel and raising.
Pretty good, but wish I enjoyed it with more age on it.

Pours a medium brown color with a pretty full and slowly dissipating white head.
Smell is dominated by malt, bourbon, citrus peel, and syrupy sweetness. A pretty full and inviting aroma.
Taste is malty with a deep bourbon backbone. There is a pretty decent hop pull as well. Citrus is barely notable, but it is subtly there. Also the sting of alcohol completes a pretty nice and balanced flavor.
Medium carbonation but strong and full body to this one.
Overall this is a pretty nice beer. The one I sampled was 2013 vintage, so it had a bit of age to it. A bit more maturity may even flesh out the flavors a bit more on this one. Still, this is a nice representation of the style and the barrel aging does add some complexity and flavor.

2012 vintage. Poured from refrigerator temp, but allowed to warm over 1.5 hours.
Appearance: A nice dark brown with a creamy head. About 2cm of head when poured relatively quickly.
Smell: VERY nice. Picking up a ton of port barrel on the nose. Sweet, orange peel, other citrus.
Taste: Caramel and citrus, with some port barrel coming through. A really nice combination. Slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Alcohol really doesn't come through. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of this.
Mouthfeel: Nice creamy taste, but a bit thin.
I really like this beer. I look forward to aging one for another year.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Deep copper. Big white head. Uneven collar and leggy.
Smell - Caramel malt. A little musty. Grapefruit hop. Some oak if I really imagine it.
Taste - Hops are aggressive up front. Caramel malt. Definite barrel flavor here. Light fruity wine flavor. Bitter finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium heavy. Bitter. Not boozy.
Overall - Not very exciting. Very hoppy. The barrel doesn't make me think port, but whatever they say.
