summer ale brewed with ginger; interesting...
on tap at the brewpub in Coronado. pours a pale apricot gold with a single finger of loose off white head that has poor retention and leaves moderate lacings.
aroma is of spicy citrus and ginger with some faint floral hops. not much as far as malts go, with a distinct sharpness from the ginger and a wonderful crispness.
taste is of citrus hops with spicy notes and a subtle ginger note on the back end. refreshing and fresh, with a finish of residual spice and citrus. a typical summer ale with a palate-cleansing ginger-like spicyness.
mouthfeel is light bodied and crisp with a light sharpness from the ginger and a pleasant finish. the ginger cleans the palate, imparting a unique crispness that adds to the refreshing quality.
drinkability is good. definitely a good session beer, with a refreshing aura and unique spice. decent offering from Coronado, but not great.

Very thin if nonexistent yeasty head on top of pineapple body with minimal visible carbonation.
Bartender mentioned ginger and lemongrass-sho 'nuff, it's in there. There's not a whole lot else here though-maybe a little faint yeast and grassy hops.
Faint malt backbone but the rest is basically potpourri. A little on the cedar/wood chips side. Uh oh.
Given the taste the mouthfeel isn't horrible. Even, almost cedar feel. At least it's consistent from start to finish.
For what it is it drinks well but no more than one.
