Orange Avenue Shandy is pale yellow amber in color. Head is rocky, off white, and fades fairly quickly.

Fairly citrussy on the nose, as expected. What's not expected though is the citrus smells more of dried orange peel and less of ripe orange juice. The yeasty smell of fresh baked bread supports the smell of orange nicely, though. Hints of fresh earth round out the aroma, making this shandy smell very enticing in its own way.

On the tongue, Orange Avenue Shandy is just over medium bodied, and very smooth. Flavors of orange come through more clearly and assertively than they did in the nose. Here, I get ripe orange juice, with the mouthfeel to support it. Bread and hints of fresh earth carry orange flavors through to a finish that is only slightly bitter in nature.

It tastes like fresh orange juice, which it should. But also has enough pale malt character to remind you there's some beer in your glass. Tasty and refreshing on a hot, summer day in a way that no lager could be.

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.

We gonna rock down to Orange Avenue, and then we'll drink a shandy. Ahem. Anyway, this stuff pours a partly cloudy brass topped by a finger or so of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises Dreamsicle, candied orange peel, a hint of blood orange zest, and a pinch of coriander. The taste brings in more of the same, not much else really going on here. The body is a rather light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a nice little shandy, pretty enjoyable in the heat. Not bad at all.
