Like his legendary counterpart on the tuckerbox, Rusty the Jack Russell terrier waited eagerly to greet visitors to Borambola Homestead. His passing meant his pudgy, city-slicker brother, Scruffy, now stands guard in his place.

Birthday present in August 2023. Drunk in November of that year.
L: Deep golden colour with a long-lasting fluffy head. So many carbonation bubbles fly up the glass that they're creating whirls and eddies rather than heading straight upwards.
S: Rich malt with a spicey, earthy hop character. Some minerality is evident as well, especially late in the aroma.
T: Malty, with moderate, earthy bitterness and a minerally note as foretold by the nose. Retronasally, the hops gain a fruity character. The finish is long but weak.
M: Carbonic prickle is high. I'm halfway through the beer, and carbonation is still whirling and swaying up the glass. The beer's body is initially full but is thinned out by the long, weak finish.
O: The visuals are the high mark of this beer, with nose, taste and mouthfeel not matching what I had expected upon pouring the beer. It's a nice enough beer but doesn't really hit the marks that a lager, let alone a self-described hoppy one, should reach.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
