On-tap at Packinghouse

A: Apparently this batch was clarified so it doesn't have the expected haze or blue color from the blueberry extract. It's clear and golden with a finger of white head.

S: Definitely lots of blueberry smell. In fact, this beer smells just like blueberry pancakes. Sweet and fruity with a touch of bready malts and lightly bitter hops to keep the sweetness in check.

T: More of the same on the palate. Sweet blueberry pancakes with a very intense blueberry character. Somewhat sugary and syrup like, but still a nice bit of breadiness to give it some substance.

M: Medium in body with a moderate carbonation.

O: Of all the beers they had, this was probably the best one. Good flavor and easy to drink.

This is a wheat beer (APWA) with blueberry extract syrup. Currently this beer is filtered but in the future it may go unfiltered so the appearane will change in subsequent batches (probably blue or pink). i.e. don't flag my review because it doesnt describe a blue color.

Sampled 4/2/2011 at the brewery.

Pours crystal clear (it's filtered), golden yellow, white head, nice lacing and retention.

Aroma is blueberry syrup and not much else other than a touch of wheat in the background.

Flavor is blueberry, sugar, and a smooth wheat beer underneath showing a hint of lemon. Medium bitterness. Surprsingly enjoyable and well made.

Body is light and drinkable.
