On tap at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company in Buellton, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of roasted malt, rye, and cocoa aromas. Taste is much the same with roasted malt and cocoa flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop and roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and smooth.
