The Grendel is a dark, unruly blend of several black beers that have been in whiskey and pinot noir barrels for one year. Baking chocolate, red and black fruit and dark caramel on the nose with a lingering finish of maduro tobacco smoke and warm alcohol. Just when you think you're safe in your mead-hall, this lumbering giant comes thundering onto your palate.
