I gave it a lower rating for the looks, as it poured nicely into a pint glass, but the head dissipated quickly, leaving a pint of amber liquid barely distinguishable from soft, filtered apple cider. The smell is a rather undernourished form of a hearty, hoppy, organic smell; not big or earthy. The taste, however, is grand! It is flavorful but not overpowering; a good balance of hops, straw, and a little sweetness. The feel outshines the taste, in my opinion; subtly carbonated, the brew seems to want to be drank, but does not want to be guzzled. It's a pleasant beer, a seasonal beer,, and one that I look forward to each October.
