On tap at Boneyard Bistro, Sherman Oaks, CA
Doppelbock aged in Rum Barrels 8 months.
A: Gorgeous dark Ruby brown. Tan head that dissipated quickly.
S: Dates, raisins, burnt sugar; a hint of light spice, like nutmeg?
T: Oh this is good. Dark, smooth, sweet. But Not boozy. Sugar from the rum barrels right off the top, then the dark fruits linger on the palate. Cherries, raisins, My god, this stuff is great. As it warms down, the booze is a little more present.
M: It is so light. It is so easy to drink! The sweetness isn't off-putting at all. As it warms, there's a dryness that very well compliments the sweet.
O: A very delicious brew. As to be expected from Figueroa Mountain.

Poured a dark ruby brown with a beige head. Smell and flavors are of dark boozy fruits, dried fruits like plums and cherries and figs, with hints of brown sugar and sweetness all around. Overall an excellent and deceptively strong doppelbock.
