Pours golden yellow with slight foamy cap that recedes to sides of pint glass on draught at Fig Brewery. Notes of grapefruit, mango, and peach balanced with clean, crisp, pine hoppy ale. Good local IPA!

Picked up a six pack of cans. Date on can: 02/21/24 -- huh, this just showed up in the grocery store, wonder why it's so old.

Very beautiful on the pour. Pours a crystal clear deep golden orange in color with hints of copper and a two finger thick frothy head on top with decent retention, eventually settling to a thin layer of lacing that coats the glass as you drink. Carbonation looks a bit below average with a few bubbles rising up. This is exactly how I like IPAs to look, though it could use a bit better head retention.

Aroma is tropical fruits, citrus, melon, pine, tea and a lovely toasted graininess to round it out. Quite fresh smelling considering how old the can is. Aroma and look both hint at balance. I like where this is going.

Taste follows the nose well. Hops hit first with the aforementioned tropical fruitiness. A bit more citrus on the tongue, mostly grapefruit and lemon pith. It's a bit spicy/piney towards the swallow and finishes with a lingering grapefruit pith and pine on the tongue afterwards. This is nicely balanced with a toasty, buttery malt profile throughout. Maybe a touch sweet, but very tasty.

This is solidly medium bodied with a good amount of chewiness and a bit of zest on the swallow. Almost syrupy, but not quite. I really love the carbonation profile here, it's subtle, crisp and smooth. This is very drinkable for it's ABV.

Really enjoyed this one. It's got a classic West Coast IPA vibe, but with a slightly different hop profile. It's only flaw is that it is slightly sweet/syrupy, but not enough to bother me -- though I wouldn't have more than a few of these. Very flavorful and strangely refreshing for such a high ABV beer. This is my second beer from Figueroa Mountain and I have liked both of them (both IPAs so far). I dig their style and look forward to seeking out more of their stuff in the future. I would also happily pick this up again, especially if I can find fresher cans. Cheers!

Pours light clear yellow with good lacing.
Has lemon like aromas and I sense almost cantelope like aromas.
Lemon like taste, sweet with not much bitterness.
Feels medium to thick in the mouth.
Overall I'm impressed and wasn't expecting it to be this good.

Poured from 12oz can into my Central Coast Brewers Guild glass. Canned 11/11/20, only 10 days ago!

Appearance: medium-golden hue with a very light touch of haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop. It's pretty!

Smell: earthy, grassy, dank hops, atop a toasty malt base. There's a little bit of fruitiness as well; it's fresh, and quite autumnal, but perhaps a little dank for my taste.

Taste: wow, dank and earthy, but this beer is so fresh that it's bringing out the richest, fruitiest elements of those hops. It's sweet, to be sure, perhaps too sweet for me; however, I find this to be a very rewarding beer.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: I will admit to this maybe not being my favorite flavor profile on paper; it is indeed rather earthy and dank. But fresh, this beer is super rewarding; I'm kinda loving it.

Pours a clear gold with a rocky white head.

Aroma is mango, orange, pineapple, and a hint of crackers.

Flavor is pineapple, mango and tangerine. Pretty sweet, but not cloying. Nice, clean piney bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Alcohol warmth is pretty noticeable, maybe a touch more than expected.

Overall, a good IPA without many obvious flaws. Although, it does lack anything impressive. Easy recommendation for most.
