Bavarian Style Lager

Our Oktoberfest Lager is back and ready to party. This smooth, malty beauty is brewed in the style of true Bavarian tradition and crafted for maximum festivity. With rich toasted notes, a clean finish, and just the right touch of sweetness, it’s the perfect way to say goodbye to summer and Hallo! to fall.

Whether you’re clinking mugs, dancing to Oompah tunes, or just soaking in that golden hour, this beer is built for good times. So dust off your lederhosen (or don’t—we won’t judge), grab a pretzel, and let the celebration begin.

On tap at Finn’s Manor in Denver, CO.

This one pours a nice amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells nice and toasty, with some herbal and spicy hop characteristics.

This feels right about spot on for what I’d expect here. There’s a really nice spicy but clean hop bitterness, and a toasty, slightly fruity, and wonderfully malty backbone.

This is light bodied, but clean and very crisp, with a great drinkability.

Every time I have something from La Cumbre, I wish I had them more often.

Smell: great smell to it.
Taste: malty, heavy, enjoyable to drink
Overall: First time buying this beer and I am enjoying it. I'm not as knowledgeable on this style of beer as I am on others but would buy again.

Pint poured at the brewery in a tulip pint glass, except a little narrower than most. Transcribing my review from notes on paper.

Poured a clear amber-gold with a finger of head, medium carbonation. Very pretty. Smell is malty grain tea, a little nutty.

Taste is right in the same zone, too. Grain tea, a little honeysuckle, a little nutty, and a husky bitterness than builds as I drink it.

Mouthfeel is medium to light. Very good beer.

Crystal clear, dark copper body; fast rising carbonation; respectably thick and foamy bone colored head. Fine malt aroma; seems like a bit of crystal and some kind of roasted malt; a bit of nut-like quality. Excellent toasted grain and roasted nut flavor; temperate hop bitterness to offset the malt sweetness; mild caramel. Medium body; gentle sweetness with some dry offset with the bitterness.

A very clean and crisp Oktoberfest, very straightforward, and nicely balancing the slightly darker malt grains with a distinct yet appropriate hop bitterness. This is a classic beer style done right. No pretension, no gimmicks, and it shines as a result.

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice clean/clear dark golden copper color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, with a pretty nice medium size oil slick, and some pretty nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, bready, slight toasty, spicy. The taste is also very nice, malty, hoppy, with some breadyness, pretty nice toastyness, nice little sweetness. Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very nice true to style brew.

This a good-looking beer. Clear dark copper with a small beige head. A tiny bit of lacing.
Sweet malt, bready aroma. Herbal hops.
Caramel taste. Brown bread. Late herbal hops.
Sweet and hoppy mouthfeel.
Unlike any other Oktoberfest I've ever had, but I liked it a lot.

I didn't know these guys made an Oktoberfest, but I'm glad they did. You think of them as a brewery that makes good hoppy IPAs, but they can do more than that, as proven here. It's pretty light at 5.4% (though I had to look that up here since I couldn't find it on the can), and comes in a pint volume can, so you could roll through a couple of these in an evening. Tastes a bit heavier than it is, which for this style is a good thing. I'm a fan.
