Pinkish-orange in color, really interesting. Great off-white, foamy and long-lasting head. Lots unexpected going on with the nose. Tons of orange, lime, melon, pomegranate and a bunch of other stuff I can't place probably because of the Tequila barrel-aged nature of the beer. I wasn't expecting to like this beer because I'm not a huge Tequila fan, but the taste was great. Refreshing and very well balanced, lots of tropical fruit, fauna and herbs, with subtle hints of earth and spice on the back palate. I'd definitely get this one again and again. Crisp feel. Overall a very unique beer, hats off to La Cumbre once again.

this is a crazy beer, a hibiscus version of their saison, but this time aged in tequila barrels. its an intensely flavored and extremely unique beer, but highly enjoyable and memorable for those who like tequila. its pink in color but doesnt have the intensely floral or perfume driven aroma and flavor that hibiscus flowers often lend to a beer, instead they seem to add an almost tropical fruit character with a botanical bent, pleasant for both senses, and unexpectedly reserved. i think its a nice addition to the base saison, which takes on a new life with the flowers. its more sour than i remember in other variants, brightly acidic but pretty clean, some funk comes in around the same time the juicy lush burning tequila enters the mix, but still more sour than bretty to me. the barrel are awesome, tons of old wet oak in here mellowing the sourness, and the tequila is rich, sort of roasted, and satisfying, spicy for a second, a little citrus to it, gorgeous with the hibiscus. the tequila really drives the flavor of this beer, i taste it prominently and longer than anything else happening here, and i really like it will everything else going on in this. a clever and well made beer, super robust on the barrel, my favorite take on this one that i have had so far i think, tons of tequila, subtle hibiscus that comes in at the right times, and overall an excellent beer!
