On tap at La Cumbre Brewing in Albuquerque, NM.

This one pours a clear golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells pretty resinous, with lots of grapefruit and orange as well.

This is absolutely a bruiser, in the best way, with a healthy but clean bitterness ripping its way through this beer. There’s no malt character at all, with a pithy and vibrant grapefruit and orange peel fruit character running through it as well.

This is medium bodied, lots of hop oil, with a great drinkability.

I don’t know exactly how this differs from the usual Project Dank, as I haven’t that hoppy classic in years now. I do know that whatever this is, it’s absolutely delicious.

Spring 2023 edition. Canned 3/23/23. Bright yellow gold body, slightly hazy, with a thin pure white head that dissipated quickly. Notes of pineapple, citrus, pine and perhaps a fleeting whiff of green onion. Hard to tell. Fruity, bright, tangy taste, with the right touch of bitterness. To me, the mouthfeel was on the shy side of medium, with plenty of carbonation. LeCumbre is one of my favorite breweries and the spring edition of their Project Dank is another solid offering.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a two finger head; shards and squiggles of lacing

Smell: Balanced aromatics bringing caramel malt, grains and piney resins

Taste: The malt and the hops are in balance here with the caramel and piney resin flavors emerging side by side; a bit grainy, through the middle, with the dank aspect building; moderately bitter finish though the sweet side lingers

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: I really like the balanced approach this beer presents; it isn't at the peak of the "dank" style but the complexity and the interplay is top drawer

Thanks, kevindp9, for the opportunity

Slightly cloudy pale amber colored with just a whisp of white foam. Pine resin and grainy nose that fills in immediately with lush orange and pears. The taste is citrus forward and some breadiness follows. The finish is a drying hit of weed. The feel is medium bodied but each shift in taste is felt through the entire mouth. Dank indeed!

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler 3-25-20 for $2.66. Canned on 3-19-20; best by 6-17-20; consumed 6-8-20. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured golden with a beautiful white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is awesome, dank city with the essence of grapefruit and peaches.

Taste follows the nose, very dank with grapefruit and peaches combining very well with the moderate pale malt base. Finishes with a nice peach pit and pine bitterness; 8/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and refreshing.

Overall an excellent WCIPA that can be had at a nice price!

Spring 2019 edition.

Pours from the can a clear golden tan with generous foaming. The aroma is surprisingly muted, with a weedy orange peel hanging back, given both the name and the burst of dank goodness as I sip it. Another great one from La Cumbre.

Pours a clear yellow brown. This is a fine IPA, but not my favorite. Fine hop profile, a bit high on the carbonation like many of the beers here. I hear the summer version is better.

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice clean/clear dark golden orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango), nice piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango), pretty nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Glad to still see it around here, again.

Fantastic visual appearance; clear, golden yellow body with exquisite carbonation; thick and fluffy white head, bulky and sculpted. Excellent aroma; pine-like, floral, and a touch of tropical fruit. The taste remains much the same; light malt; biscuit-like; strong, phenolic bitterness; faint ester presence. The mouthfeel also remains much the same.

I detected minor improvements in the look and smell of the beer, while the overall taste and mouthfeel remained much along the lines of my initial impressions. I gave a beer a slight tick up in the overall score because of my perceived improvements in the look and smell.
------------------
Clear, golden body; thick, stick head; rings of foam cling to the glass. Pine resin and pineapple aroma. Fine light malt base flavor with a prominent hop bitterness; pine resin. Medium body; sticky with a nice prickliness on the palate; mainly dry mouthfeel throughout.

A solid IPA from La Cumbre. There is no information on the can or their web site about ABV or hops used, but it's fair to assume the ABV is around 7.5% like previous versions of Project Dank. The can indicates it was canned on 03/13/19 and is best before 6/11/19 (i.e., CO03/13/19 BB06/11/19 06:56).
