I had this beer on-tap in a shaker pint at the brewery/taproom in Port Angeles.
Appearance: pale golden-straw hue with just a dash of haze and a finger of compact ivory foam atop.
Smell: light and astringent malt, with a very “American light beer” vibe — this is way more like a macro adjunct lager in smell than the Pilsner it’s billed as. Not my favorite thing out there.
Taste: very much an adjunct lager type flavor — it tastes like a stereotypical “beer”. Light malt character with a bit of a corny, crackery malt flavor, and not much in the way of hops.
Mouthfeel: medium light body with a moderate carbonation and decent enough creaminess.
Overall: I mean … this beer is kind of like “what if Bud Light, but craft?”, which, for this pizza joint in a blue collar logging town, is entirely understandable. It’s not the worst thing in the world, and I’m sure it’ll be fine with a slice of pizza, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this one.
