I visited Barhop while in Port Angeles a few weeks back. It's definitely more of a "pizza join" vibe than "brewery" vibe -- I didn't see any brewing equipment or signs of brewing activity, at least not from the taproom area. 8 beers on tap on my visit, plus four ciders, with styles including IPA, pilsner, pale ale, porter, saison, stout, and a peach cobbler sour. I am sad to say, though, that the quality of the beers didn't impress me too much -- good enough to wash down some pizza, I guess, but really nothing to write home about. Service at the bar was friendly enough, and the pizza was pretty good -- not too fancy but a tasty slice to accompany a beer.

Small brewpub across the street from the bay. Long straight bar opposite the entrance seats about 18 with additional tables about the room and a few on the sidewalk out front. 8 beers on tap, single cans to go. Under staffed, one person working the bar and waiting on all the tables. I did not try the food.

Visited at opening (noon) on a Friday with my kids and in-laws. I had a barleywine and an IPA, we shared a few pizzas. At least at this time (a moderately relaxed period of the pandemic), order everything at the counter and they bring it to you at your table (or send it with you).

Pizza was good. Service was fine. They were missing an ingredient for one of the pizzas we ordered, and they upgraded us free of charge to make up for it, which is appreciated.

They had maybe 10-12 taps of a variety of styles. My barleywine tasted like a pretty decent clone of Bigfoot. IPA was fine. The sips I had of others' beers were pretty good too. Seemed like the place was mostly populated with locals, though we weren't the only tourists stopping on our way through town.

Certainly worth a stop pretty much anytime you're in the area, but not a destination in and of itself, I think. We'd probably stop there again if we headed back up that way (but it is a 3-4 hour drive from our house).

Update: I visited again on vacation in Sept 2021 and had even better experience. Amazing pizza, salad and beer! This is my fave place in Port Angeles. The beer was so good I didnt want to leave, but I had to go back to Seattle that night.

I'm on vacation from NJ and stopped in here on 9/27/19, after an afternoon taking pics of seabirds at Ediz Hook. Found a spot right in front of the brewery. The location is right on the waterfront next to the Victoria-Port Angeles Ferry dock, and I saw a Grebe in the water right by my car. The weather was great that day, sunny and 65 degrees. The city of Port Angeles I fell in love with. This brewery I only visited for a short time, but it was memorable.

The space is huge inside, kind of warehouse like, with lots of families and kids. Huge amount of tables. Huge chalkboard taking up the whole wall. I only had one beer, a fresh hop IPA. It was delicious and I had two. I was going to have dinner later so the only food I had was the habanero chicken wings which I give a 5/5. A unique sauce spicy yes but not too bad.

I talked to an older man sitting next to me who lived full-time on a boat in the John Wayne Marina near Sequim. I had actually been to the Marina before in 2017, to take pictures of Kingfishers and Gulls.

The service was very young, and a tiny bit attitudinal.. but I get it and it didn't affect or bother my experience. Next time I want to try the pizza, for sure!!

Being a local I get to go to their brewery/brewpub frequently. While the beers have had room to improve, they have been improving! Additionally the atmosphere is good if you want a cozy, low-key brewpub experience. I love the lighting, the live music, the view, and the free pool. The prices are right. My favorite part is the food; they've always had excellent pizza and now they're expanding to other dishes that are equally good! I recommend anyone in Port Angeles to pay these guys a visit.

I sat at the bar for over an hour and the bartender never said one word to me, a waitress off the floor came over and got me a flight and was super rude in doing so. If I'd waited that long for good beer, maybe, but not at this place. Normally, I'd be sad to see a microbrew close, but not those place. This place can't close fast enough for me.

Barhop Brewing opened a public TapRoom at 110 N. Laurel in Port Angeles on July 1, 2011. It's a small space and not all beers are always available. Only food was free pretzels. Seems to be directed to a more upmarket clientele than you see at nearby Peaks Brewpub. I greatly enjoyed the taster tray (IPA and ESB were best) but when it came time to order a pint of IPA, it was served in undrinkable condition (new keg, muddy/murky). It was cheerfully replaced, but shouldn't have been handed to a customer in the first place...but I willl return :)
