Had this on tap first on 2/6/2010. I liked it so much I got a growler to share with my friends on 2/20/2010. I was quite impressed by every aspect of the establishment, and their beers were top notch. This one is by far their best. The only (slight) detraction is that it is VERY malty, which prevents one from wanting more than a small mouthful every few minutes. Not a beer to be had quickly!

On-tap at The Brew Kettle, 2/18/07
2007 FOTB barley wine aged three months in a Kentucky wheat whiskey barrel
A: Pours a very dark brown color. Decent lacing for such a high octane brew.
S: Rich malty aromas dominate with a touch of oak.
T: A sweet fruity malt taste combined with a fantastic vanilla flavor. The sweetness fills the mouth and then subsdies to reveal an earthy hop bitterness. Superbly balanced and wonderfully complex. Quite possibly the best tasting American BW that I've had.
M: Medium-full bodied with smooth carbonation. Chewy and sticky. Nice.
D: Don't drink this one unless you have a DD. This is simply a must try beer and is too good to have just one. If only this were available all the time.
