12 ounce Snifter:

Very good. Bourbon there but not over-powering. Vanilla and oak come through as well. Has a very nice deep amber color and is quite drinkable. Smells of woody sweetness.

Drank on tap at the Brew Kettle during the "Ogre Fest"

the 2011 version is 12% ABV.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a hazy amber color with a medium thin and foamy light beige head that has decent retention. Sheets of lacing on the glass. Toasted malt and caramel in the nose with a bit of dark fruit. Rich body with a woody character. Sweet brown sugar and malt flavors along with a moderate level of hops, plus a bit of alcohol burn. The finish is chewy and sweet with a lingering malt aftertaste. Very good all around.
