Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber color with a minimal off-white head that dissipates quickly. Slick, spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is mainly sweet toasted malt with some caramel and hops. Medium-bodied with a smokey toasted malt character. Lightly spiced hops are present as well. The finish is sweet and roasty with a malty aftertaste. Decent all around.
