A: Pours golden with a two-finger head that sustains as a light frothy layer. Moderate lacing.

S: Very light smoke smell with more of a honey wheat sort of aroma.

T: Again, very light on the smoke. A soft mesquite taste with not much else going on.

M: Quite light in body with moderate carbonation. Finishes extra clean and dry.

D: Easy to drink, but it is lacking the intensity and complexity of a stellar rauch. This beer is getting boring very quickly.

Purchased in a 1 pint, 6 fluid oz. bottle at the Brew Kettle last night. Poured into my Samuel Smith pint glass.

A Nearly clear orange brownish body with a nice frothy head that stayed around for a good 6 to 7 minutes. Nice look.

S Nice, pleasing BBQ smoke scent as was expected. Not as strong and pleasing as the German beers that I have recently tasted/rated but really quite nice for a craft brew.

T Nice Rauchbier taste of smokey wood chips. Not much bitterness at all. Really quite nice. The front is of that nice smokey taste but then the mid taste thins things out a lot and there is simply a thin bitterness without much memory of the smokiness.

M Smooth as anyone should expect this style to be. Probably moderate on the "bigness" scale. Again here this beer is right on target for the style.

D Excellent. Really, beyond good. I could have this whole bomber with some grilled meat (and yes, some BBQ!).

Notes: A really nice Rauchbier for a craft brew place like the Brew Kettle, a small operation. Bravo!
