On tap at Blues and Brews 2010. I had this early in the day and feel confident in my review being untainted by the loads of beer this great festival offered. This is one of the beers I was most interested in and it didn't dissapoint, although the appearance started off on a low note.
Ruddy red, not a great look going on here. Dull looking, cloudy. No head at all or even signs of life.
Smell is nice though, sour lacto and cherry. Not overwhelmingly sour, but expressive and tart.
Taste is nice, a little bit dirty with some of the brett elements making this just a bit too funky. The cherry is good though, and the lacto/pedio funk provides a nice bit of sour lemon.
Mouthfeel is a touch dull. This is kinda on the still side, but it has decent body. The finish is nice, though, and it's not too acidic or devistating. A great experimental beer, I'd like to see more Funk Works stuff going on from the Kettle. They're making better and better beer each month, it seems, so please don't stop the funk. We want the funk, gotta have the funk now!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
