Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance had a golden bronzed yellow color with a small cap of white semi-foamy head. Some messy lace.
The aroma had some spicy to grassy hops playing with some floral sweetness. Slight sweet malts.
The flavor leaned into a sweet blend of hops and malts, some keen bitterness seems to add a light crisp lemony aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Decent enough carbonation with a crisp lemony semi-sweet finish.
Overall, it's pretty good all around but I don't see it so much as an American pale wheat ale. I'd still have again.

This is the farthest thing from a wheat beer you could imagine. The hops and spicy tones from them completely dominate things and absolutely no wheat characteristics can be seen. I am going to judge this beer to style. And judging it to style, this is a complete failure. Stick a new label on it that says Pale Ale, and you're looking good. But as a wheat beer, this was a very poor execution. (it certainly is a tasty beer though)

Poured into a weizen glass.
4.0 A: Faintly hazed golden orange color. Two and a half fingers of frothy white head. Retention is good and a tall ring of lacing is left.
3.5 S: Neutral wheat maltiness. Herbal and flowery hops. Simple, but pleasant.
3.0 T: Like the nose. Wheaty. Low bitterness with herbal and piney hop flavor.
3.0 M: Lighter medium body. Carbonation appropriate for style. Could be creamier.
3.0 D: An average, easy drinking beer.

Serving Type - 22oz bottle
Appearance - Clear golden yellow, tan tin. Very foamy, monster 4+ inch head and lots of foamy lacing. Really nice looking beer.
Smell - Hops, wheat, orange, spices, a bit floral/earthy. Lemon, pine and some added sugars also.
Taste - Hops and pale wheat start this beer off. Nice Piney hops mixed with sweet lemon, apple and grapefruit. Not overly bitter nor sour, rather smooth and light. Floral yeasty flavor mixed with some added sugars round this beer out.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and easy on mouth. Tounge gets hops and wheat. Palette gets remaining hops and floral fruits along with some wheat and yeasty lemon. Aftertaste is thin, slighty bitter and earthy.
Overall - Very nicely done. Smooth, flavorful and low alcohol make this a great drink. Hops add ample amount of sweetness to balance out the sour wheat and yeasty flavors. This beer is insanly frothy, the head is a monster so pour carefully and enjoy.

A 650 mL bomber from somewhere in Ohio, either Toledo or Boardman, I forget.
A: The APWA is pale and rightly so. Golden at the base of the glass, the ale grows progressively cloudier, completely hazed over by the rim. Two fingers of white head lead to webs of lace all around the glass.
S: The citrus bite of the hops stands out, lemon and orange in the lead. They are pleasantly strong, covering up most of the light tartness of the wheat. Without the hops, the ale would likely flounder.
T: Mmmm, the hoppiness really makes the ale sing, with citrusy orange zest and lemons coming through strong. Lemony wheat follows and adds to the overall citrus landscape. More bread follows, covering up some of the hops. The zest returns, powdery, for a big finish. Not your regular pale wheat ale, not with this much hoppiness along for the ride.
M: Wheat? Check. Hops? Check, and then some. Easy drinking but more than enough hops.

Poured from a "bomber" bottle into a standard pint glass. Hazy gold in color, with a decent two-inch head of off-white foam.
Aroma-Wheat malt,spicy yeast note
Taste-Wheat, spicy yeast, mild hop note lends a nice balance. Faint citrus note. Very refreshing and flavorfull. Good character and value.

A. Poured a gold color with off-white frothy head. This dissipated to a frothy ring and a dollop of froth in the middle.
S. Bready wheat, malt and a strong showing of citrus hops with a tinge of garden aroma.
T. Starts out with a spicy wheat/bread flavor. Goes into a potpourri of citrus nuances and comes out with a bitter-tinged spiciness.
M. Light bodied and watery, it coats the mouth pleasingly going down, and leaves a slight dryness. Drinkable for sure, but the lingering bitterness makes it a beer that doesn't feel refreshing, as the lack of sweetness makes it seem more bitter than reported. Would be decent in a session.

22oz bomber -> tulip
no date
Pours a darker than expected golden orange with a nice tight one to two inch head with some staying power.Thin rings of chalky lace up and down the glass. Carbonation appears steady and abundant.
Nose: Citrus, candy caramel, a little funk
A smooth creamy body with zip. Thicker than I like in an APWA malt base gives a thick bready flavor that dominates in the short term and seems to cover up the wheat (not an easy task with wheat making 65% of the grain bill according to the bottle). The hops fight their to the forefront but have to pack a serious punch to do so. Stinging grapefruit, earthy grasses and orange peel all are present. A quick hit of bitterness. The funk from the nose is also present and only slightly distracting.
I've become a big fan of the American Pale Wheat in recent years and although this one is interesting, it doesn't quite rise to the top. Just seems a bit too heavy to me. Definitely worth picking up and finding out for yourself. Would love to try this fresh at the brewery.
