On tap at the Brew Kettle. Looks like Matt Cole from Fatheads was able to get Jack Kephart from the Brew Kettle into the fold for the 2010 Collaborative Evil. This year's style is Baltic Porter, and I was able to confirm that TBK did this the authentic way with bottom fermenting lager yeast.

Described as "Huge Baltic Porter brewed with coconut milk powder and cocoa powder. *EVIL* in drinkable form!!! 9.8 ABV, 35 IBU" on the menu. Served in a 12oz snifter.

Looks nice in terms of color, a dark black that does not allow any light to escape. No head whatsover, nor any lace. That knocks down the appearance score, but the beer is still very appealing.

Smells nice - a great roasted malt comes through and gives impressions of chocolate, dark toffee, a touch of tar and dark fruit, and slight coffee notes. The nose is just a touch subdued and the coconut powder "secret ingredient" doesn't come out enough but is barely noticeable when this beer warms up. Some earthy hoppiness rounds things out.

What punch was missing in the nose is made up upon the first sip. This is a hugely flavorful beer - nice deep and well constructed flavors. Huge roast and hop bitterness dominate, just a touch of caramel sweetness. Chocolate is perfect, not too bitter or burned, but deep and pleasant. The coconut milk powder really shines in the finish, adding a subtle sweetness and contributing to such a perfect finish.

Nice body and carb. Medium to thick with lush feel, creamy carbonation, and a silky and smooth finish. Insane feel, perhaps the best I've ever encountered. A++. Overall, this is a very, very good beer and should showcase well at GABF. I wish I could attend to try all the others. In the meantime, anyone with a shot at this should try it, it's a great beer from a talented brewer. The Brew Kettle continues to impress. Kudos!
