This beer was aged in Basil Hayden and Basil Hayden Toast barrels. It is overflowing with rich fudge and heartwarming bourbon. Aromatically bursting with fresh coffee, Tahitian vanilla, and warm roasted nuts.
Once a year we brew up this little beauty! In collaboration with Fifty West, Tony’s Tavern and Heggys nuts! Our tribute to the beloved "Hot nut" shot at Tonys! An imperial stout with specialty coffee and Heggys hazelnuts!

Finally cracking open this bad boy. Pours black with a strong head, at least one finger thick and mocha in color. Fades gradually. Very pleasant. Smell is strong on the bourbon and malt. Tastes like a fair mix of coffee, hazelnut, and vanilla. A touch fudgey with dark bread and oak. Definitely some dark chocolate; a faint touch of anise too. Full-bodied, thick, slick, tongue-coating, creamy.
It has, unfortunately, been a long time since I had the base version, which I remember liking a lot. Would love to compare the two side by side.

500 ml green wax capped bottle, 2022 release, pretty sure it was released in December 2022. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like coffee, hazelnuts, roasted malt, vanilla, and dark bread. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some bourbon, oak, dark chocolate and some anise flavors noticeable too. I thought this was a pretty good brew, definitely worth buying if you come across some. If you liked the original version then you'll probably like this one too!
