Poured a dark brown with almost no head, but lively carbonation. No lacing. Pretty sexy for a BA.
Scent is very good, but not great. You get "spices" but none stand out more than any other. For instance, the aroma doesn't say "nutmeg." Rather, spices. I appreciate that. Lots of big sweet malty notes. Maple syrup.
Flavor is really great. Some winter warmers just BEG to be barrel aged, and Brew Kettle's winter warmer is one of them. By itself, the warmer is pretty "meh;" aged the way they do it, this is awesome. The spices, the maple, and the malts all pair very well together to make a bigger, bolder, more flavorful version of their BA warmer than in years past. It's a sipper, but my god is it delicious.
Mouthfeel is a solid medium, with a slightly oily feel. Perfect for the flavor.
This is an evolution from previous versions of their BA warmer. It's aged longer, higher ABV, and amazing. You won't regret this one.
