Edition 2006 - Beer with BIO certificate

Appearance is an amber colored beer with a lot of visible carbonation and a small head. Usually doppelbocks are dark brown or black, so I have my doubts.

Smell is a very malty beer with caramellic notes and a slightly roasted and sweet smell. It smells like a full-bodied beer.

Taste is full-bodied and sweet. The malt is very upfront and is roasted and caramellic with hints of bread and biscuit. The alcohol is a little warming, some higher alcohols make the beer taste a little oxidized. Bitterness is low.
All together a beer that is not a doppelbocks, more a German barley wine, but that doesn't even exist.
