$ 10.48 (Including discount and tax)/bomber ($ 0.476/oz) at Oppermann’s, Saginaw, MI.
Undated bottle stored at 42 degrees. Served at 54 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – slightly sour. No hint of bourbon or barrel, no malt.
Head – large (Maximum 6.5 cm, aggressive pour), tan, fizzy, average duration, diminishing to an irregular three to six mm ring and heaped partial layer.
Lacing – poor. A few tiny islands of even tinier bubbles.
Body – amber with a distinctly reddish caste. Slight chill haze.
Flavor – odd. It lacks the bourbon barrel aging notes like bourbon and oak. It has only a faint taste of malt and isn’t sweet. Allowing it to warm in my mouth brings out nothing but sourness.
Palate – medium, almost creamy, lively carbonation.
Well. This is definitely not a scotch ale nor a wee heavy. I assume they did indeed age it in bourbon barrels but I can’t taste or smell them. It seems to me that this is a contaminated batch that some marketing genius decided to add a “Sour” sticker to the bottle in an attempt to make lemonade. That said, this is a passable low end sour and could probably serve as a gateway into sours for the uninitiated.
Appearance 3, Aroma 3, Flavor 3, Palate 3.5, Overall 3.

Pours a deep amber infused mahogany with a large fluffy tan colored head that settles or I should say creeps very slowly into a frothy mass.Fruitiness with a tinge of tartness intermingled with a bit of toasted oak and vanilla underneath.Big and fruity palate but with that mild sourness wich I isn't really supposed to be there,there is a decent vanilla tinged bourbon note in the finish.Some good stuff going on but also some not so good stuff going on,kind of all over the place.In saying that not a horrible beer.
