Had this on a recent work trip to Fresno. The plan was to review three beers and then have a few tasters. I ended up having two taster flights after the three beers, then took some bottles and cans back home. It ended up being a pretty expensive trip. Online description called it, “Tecumseh is the highest ranking member of our General’s army. It is brewed as a Triple IPA but has deceptively smooth flavor and extreme drinkability given the massive amount of malts and hops used to produce this tasty Imperial style IPA. We use Centennial hops in the front end of boil for its hop backbone with Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo and CTZ at the end of boil, whirlpool and in the dry hop additions for a pungent citrus and dank aroma in the flavor and finish.” Was cautiously looking forward to this one.
Poured an amber hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white frothy head when I got it. Serene setting underneath with no noticeable bubbles. Decent watery lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Simcoe stands out on the nose. Also herbal, menthol, pine, Columbus, Citra, range, Amarillo, peach and mango. (Smell - 4.00)
Pleasantly surprised with the taste. Got sticky caramel, Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra, dry Centennial, herbal, pine, peach, lemon and grapefruit. Not too boozy as the 10.8 pct. indicates. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This was an excellent TIPA. (Overall - 4.25)

canned on 1/31/2017. mailed by my beer trading partner in southern California.
pours fairly hazy. not the best head or retention, but good lacing. caramel malt filled aroma. sweet flavor is followed by piney, very piney. resinous hop character. a bit of booze in the finish. there is some citrus in there as well. a good nightcap DIPA, bot a night-starter. messy and a little unrefined.

2015 batch is vastly superior to the first batch. Much improved recipe - better balance, not as sharp/hot as last year's batch. Great improvement T.S.!

Had on tap tonight at the release. First sip kicks you in the face. Successive sips mellow out and reveal a very well constructed imperial IPA. Nice balance of citrus and dank tones. This is the odd brew in which every sip gets better with the last near the bottom being the best. Very well done. I started a new beer because this is nothing like 2014 Tecumseh
