Very Good
Notes: Tecumseh is our Triple IPA and is brewed to be the highest General in our hop army. This Imperial IPA is highly decorated with pounds of hops throughout that give it a dank, citrusy, grapefruit flavor and aroma. Join the General's Army and we'll drop hop bombs on your palate!

Had this on a recent work trip to Fresno. The plan was to review three beers and then have a few tasters. I ended up having two taster flights after the three beers, then took some bottles and cans back home. It ended up being a pretty expensive trip. Online description called it, “Tecumseh is the highest ranking member of our General’s army. It is brewed as a Triple IPA but has deceptively smooth flavor and extreme drinkability given the massive amount of malts and hops used to produce this tasty Imperial style IPA. We use Centennial hops in the front end of boil for its hop backbone with Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo and CTZ at the end of boil, whirlpool and in the dry hop additions for a pungent citrus and dank aroma in the flavor and finish.” Was cautiously looking forward to this one.

Poured an amber hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white frothy head when I got it. Serene setting underneath with no noticeable bubbles. Decent watery lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 3.75)

Simcoe stands out on the nose. Also herbal, menthol, pine, Columbus, Citra, range, Amarillo, peach and mango. (Smell - 4.00)

Pleasantly surprised with the taste. Got sticky caramel, Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra, dry Centennial, herbal, pine, peach, lemon and grapefruit. Not too boozy as the 10.8 pct. indicates. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)

This was an excellent TIPA. (Overall - 4.25)

canned on 1/31/2017. mailed by my beer trading partner in southern California.

pours fairly hazy. not the best head or retention, but good lacing. caramel malt filled aroma. sweet flavor is followed by piney, very piney. resinous hop character. a bit of booze in the finish. there is some citrus in there as well. a good nightcap DIPA, bot a night-starter. messy and a little unrefined.

Bottle pour at the pre-FWIBF bottle share held at the Adelaide Inn in Paso Robles, CA.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, brown sugar, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and grapefruit juice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but has a slightly better hop presence in the aroma in my opinion.

Think Knuckle Sandwich, with a bit more hint of booze. It is 10.8 for goodness sake.. Very sweet and fruity. Almost a cantaloupe flavor. Very rich hoppy triple. Summit hops contribute to this beer immensely. Limited release from these talented brewers. Another beer paying homage to General Tecuhmseh Sherman. This beer is a high octane representation of the hoppies. Best to share with a friend out of bottle or one pint and be on hop cloud 9!
