Went over to Tioga Sequoia on a recent work trip to Fresno and naturally spent way too much money taking stuff back to San Diego. The Untappd description was “Port Barrel Aged - "Giggawatts" is a delectable experience of when dessert wine meets imperial stout. We aged our rich and creamy stout in a single tawny port barrel for 30 months creating delicious flavors of deep oak and sweet overtones of figs, cherries, and dark chocolate. The perfect dessert beer for sharing with friends!”
Poured a pitch-black color with two fingers of frothy-to-fizzy khaki-tan head. Calm setting underneath with no noticeable bubbles. Good spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled oak, plum, dark fruit, fig, date, leather, chocolate, coffee malts and cocoa. Just as good from the bottle. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted about as good. In order got port barrel, oak, plum, dark fruit, fig, date, leather, chocolate, cocoa and coffee malts. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
This was really good. Glad I got to try it. (Overall - 4.25)
