Drawing from our Midwestern heritage, the art on this pilsner lager features a shootout in proper horseback riding fashion. A lone gunman, running from an ambush by Union troops, has to go “Among the Willows” or a.k.a. evade the law. Unlike the label art, our German Pilsner doesn’t break any laws from the German Purity Law 1516. (Reinheitsgebot). Among the Willows Pilsner Lager is refreshing, light-bodied, crisp and clean with a light malt flavor that is balanced by medium hop bitterness.

Clear light straw yellow with a modest but Lasting white head.
The aroma is light sweet malt and fresh cut grass.
The taste is light malt, grass and a hint of caramel. The finish is dry and slightly metallic.
The body is light, carbonation is mild, crisp and clean.
Altogether this is a light, crisp refreshing brew, nothing special but very drinkable and no real problems. Nice artwork on the can.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of grasses, caramel and hay. Sweet toasted bread taste with caramel and a grassy bitterness. Crisp, sharp and smooth with a light body.

Poured from a can. Light straw in color with a small head. Smells of malt, bread and hints of floral. Malt and bread with a touch of sweet in the flavor. Ends with a nice earthy grain taste.

Poured from a can into a 16 oz pint glass

Look: Straw gold, extremely clear. Small, long lasting head.

Aroma: Slight malty aroma, lack of any notable hop aroma. Slight DMS smell

Taste: Mild malty flavor. A bit more bitter than I'd expect from a Pilsner. Metallic aftertaste.

Feel: Med-light body, light carbonation.

Overall: Not really a great beer by any means, but not bad either.
