A traditional wheat-based ale originating in Southern German, typically brewed for summer consumption. At Public House, we take our Hefeweizen seriously. Not only do we use traditional ingredients, but our brewers use the traditional, multi-step infusion mash method (adding time and toil to the brew day) which gives the beer the appropriate body without cloying sweetness. Pale, spicy, and fruity, our Hefeweizen is medium-bodied with a fluffy, creamy fullness that comes directly from the wheat.

Subtle flavors and aromas of banana, clove, and even bubblegum--all naturally imparted by the yeast--are balanced by slightly tart and citrusy noble hops.

Do we really need to keep going here? If you don't want one by now, you're barking up the wrong banana.

Poured from a 12oz can into a Pint glass.

Look: Small and short lasting head, went away within 30 seconds. Light straw colored. No sediment or particulate noted.

Aroma: Presence of esters is noted, definitely some clove scents coming through. A mild bready aroma also follows.

Taste: Strong banana flavor noted with a very mild maltiness behind it. A slight bit of hop bitterness is noted, but no perceptible flavor.

Mouthfeel: Very thin body with very low carbonation for the style.

Overall: Doesn't fit into the hefeweizen style very well besides the banana and clove esters. Carbonation was completely lacking, but this might be better when not packaged.

Good effort, strong clove, light banana on nose. Lighter style, goes down well. Some tartness, but pleasant.

this is a good hefe, tastes a little overly estery, perhaps fermented a few degrees warmer than my tastes prefer, but its well made beer, drier than many and very refreshing and easy drinking while still maintaining a round and fluffy wheaty body, creamy and satisfying but not hindering drinkability. some banana here, white wheat though is really flavorful in this, white pepper, yellow corn, subtle lemongrass and cut herbs, even green tea, its simple on the surface but has some nice worked in complexities in both grain and yeast profiles, really balanced and tasty beer, forward as the yeast is. the dryness is its defining feature for me, really nice and something i often miss in the style. great carbonation too, this really casts a very summery complexion, stays quite traditional, and is one of the better beers i have had from these guys, especially from a technical standpoint. i am surprised this hasnt been more favorably reviewed. if you like your hefe really yeast driven but still crushable, this is the one for you!

Ok I love hefeweizen.
L: pour 2/3 then swirl aggressively finally pouring last third to pick up all the yeasty flavors. Light clouldy straw yellow with a large head.
S: Very Nice yeasty spice the clove/bubble gum with a hint of banana and grain. Not as strong as the german classics that define the style but still present.
T: nice clove and banana giving way to a wheat grain taste leaving the palate with a tart citrus flavor. The tart lemon like flavor lingers for a bit.
F: Soft foamy carbonation just the way it should be.
O: This is the best domestic hefe I have tried. Not quite as strong as some german examples but it hangs in there and hits all the hallmark flavors. The only draw back for me is the strong tart finish is stronger than I would like. I will definitely have this again.

Poured from bottle into a tumbler glass. Dark golden color and cloudy with a thick white head. Aroma primarily of banana and some bread to it. Flavor is malty and then banana with a light banana finish that fades away quickly. Light beer with carbonation, so this one goes down quite easily. Nice summer beer and the six pack won't last long.

Starts nice, hefe taste with banana and bubblegum. Ends not as good, watery and fizzy
